Seasons do not merely change the world; they paint it with colors, rhythms, and subtle transformations. Reflecting this essence, DPS Rajnagar Extension hosted its Annual Function, “A Symphony of Seasons,” showcasing a spectacular blend of talent, creativity, and environmental awareness.
The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Ambuja Joshi, along with the Guest of Honour, whose presence added great prestige to the occasion. The programme commenced with a traditional welcome of the guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over darkness.
The evening began with a mesmerizing choir performance titled “Shining Star,” which set a harmonious tone and captivated the audience. The Welcome Address by Mrs. Pallavi Upadhyaya, Principal, DPS R.N. Extension, emphasized the importance of nurturing creativity and fostering environmental consciousness among students.
The central theme, “Re-Earth: A Symphony of Seasons,” was beautifully portrayed by young performers from Nursery to Grade 2, who brought the charm of different seasons to life with vibrant energy and innocence. The journey began with Spring, depicting blooming flowers, buzzing bees, and fluttering butterflies through graceful dance performances. This was followed by Summer, where students presented a lively beach party dance, showcasing playful moments and refreshing summer delights.

The Monsoon segment filled the stage with rhythm and joy as children performed an umbrella dance, creatively portraying paper boats and the excitement of rainfall. The transition to Autumn introduced a serene mood, symbolized by falling golden leaves and the thoughtful act of squirrels gathering food, highlighting change and preparation.
The grand Winter act transformed the stage into a magical wonderland, complete with a Christmas tree and a snowman. Students enthralled the audience with a charming ballet performance, capturing the warmth and joy of the season.
Adding depth to the narrative, the programme took a powerful turn with the entry of the “Attackers”—Mr. Plastic, Mr. Smog, and Mr. Heat—representing environmental pollution and its harmful impact on Mother Earth. This was followed by the inspiring arrival of the “Crusaders”—Energy Savers, Planters, and Recyclers—who conveyed a strong message about sustainability and the collective responsibility to protect the planet.
The event concluded with a grand finale celebrating unity, responsibility, and the beauty of nature. The Chief Guest appreciated the students’ outstanding performances and the meaningful theme of the function. The programme ended with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Anthem.
A special video presentation showcasing behind-the-scenes moments was also screened, giving the audience a glimpse into the dedication and teamwork that made the event a grand success.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Pallavi Upadhyaya, Principal, DPS R.N. Extension, said, “At DPS Rajnagar Extension, we believe in nurturing not just academic excellence but also creativity, sensitivity, and responsibility among our students. ‘A Symphony of Seasons’ is a reflection of our commitment to holistic education, where young minds are encouraged to appreciate nature and understand their role in preserving it. Through such platforms, we aim to instill values that shape responsible global citizens.”
Overall, “A Symphony of Seasons” proved to be an inspiring and memorable celebration, leaving the audience applauding the young performers for their exceptional presentation.
